Pizza Man: DNS in every race, i.e. he always shows up, but he never sails.

Scorekeeper’s Comments

Week 1 (August 11), Delightful, steady, almost balmy breezes welcomed us to the reservoir. Equally pleasant sailing followed. The only dissention all evening was a little talk of there not being enough wind shifts to gain on the leaders. I believe the comments were only to make conversation during a perfect evening.

Week 2 (August 18), Incredibly warm and mild evening. Winds were so steady that those behind were all praying for shifts to catch the boats ahead. Prayers went unanswered, leading to some very orderly sailing.

Week 3 (August 25), Opposite of 8/18. Ten boats on the line this evening. Light to moderate stiff winds that were randomly oscillating 90 degrees out of the north and west with no warning. The reservoir kept us guessing all evening with many mid-race lead changes. Excellent and interesting sailing to be sure. Art Lewis is in the lead for the 4th quarter glass.

Week 4 (Sep. 1), Max continues to be the dog to beat, with two bullets. Art Lewis lost a little ground to both Malcolm and Paul in the chase for the Q4 cup. Could be a real dog race with only four races to go in the quarter. Come watch the fun. The reservoir shifted back to light and uncommonly steady breezes last Wednesday. Delightful, but not too interesting if you like wind shifts.

Week 5 (Sep. 8), Light, warm, steady breezes all evening. Delightful. With one week to go in Q4, the race for the cup is a little closer than the absolute scores indicate. With throwouts Art Lewis leads both Malcolm and Paul Zander by a mere 4 points. With the surprises that the reservoir can deal out, it’s a three way race for the Q4 cup this coming week. Don’t miss the action this coming Wednesday.

Week 6 (Sep. 15), Fourth quarter honors and a glass go to that light air pro, Art Lewis. Congratulations Art. Paul Z. and Malcolm have been going faster, but not enough to catch the speedy Art. Last Wednesday was a most excellent night at the reservoir with moderately light breezes straight over the dam. Art Lange was the speed demon with two bullets. (FYI, the webmaster nods his cap to Max, for never finishing out of the top 3, and winding up with the best score in the fleet for Q4.)
